The iSLC 2012 conference will be focused on the general theme of "Time, Mind, and Education Intertwined." This theme emphasizes that time plays a vital role in the science of learning, and it is an important aspect in many topics studied by the centers ranging from the temporal characteristics of communication, longitudinal educational intervention studies, technologies for processing video data, and more. The conference will focus on helping participants understand the temporal aspects of learning studied by all of the centers.
The conference will contain scientific discussions, networking activities, poster sessions, and oral presentations focused on the efforts of iSLC participants. There will also be sessions aimed at integrating findings from talks into ideas on how to apply the findings to research in other centers. These sessions will contribute to the broader goal of enhancing the educational experience of the participants and promoting cross-Center collaborations.
